Direct from Haiti, co-host Kim Ives
will report on the Port-au-Prince
Cathedral funeral services and
burial in the southern town of
Cavaillon of the late theology
of liberation priest, Gérard Jean-
Juste, who died May 27 of leukemia.
William Jefferson Clinton’s
tenure as United Nations special
envoy to Haiti began Monday, June
15, 2009. In an open letter to
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon,
a group of concerned Haitians
asked: “Is Mr. Clinton going to
use his leadership and charm to
end Haiti’s occupation or reinforce
it?” Human rights advocate Jocelyne
Gay joins co-host Roger Leduc in
deconstructing the appointment
of the former United States president
who in 2000 accelerated the destabilization
campaign of the Lavalas regime.
Is it possible for Bill Clinton
as an agent of the occupation to
redeem himself by doing as he said:
"All I want to do is help the Haitians
take control over their own destiny?"
